Pictures of Peace

A collection of photographs from the International Peace Garden, which lies at the border between Canada and North Dakota. A stunning display of both collaboration and preservation that features a host of activities, events, and blooms that keep visitors returning any time of the year.

As part of my original One-Day ND Destinations travel series in 2023, I visited the Peace Garden in what was the longest and busiest trip in my journalism career. I was also one of the first journalists to visit the Vitko Collection of cacti and succulents in its new Conservatory during my first visit in September 2023, and later returned to see the finished product .
